Well it’s
the middle of the holiday weekend – the meat day because it is sandwiched
between the other two. We managed to get
tanks dumped today. Love those blue
totes! We also topped off the fresh
water tank. I had planned to do a bunch
of chores - cleaning windows, shining the truck a little etc. but my middle son
sent me a text saying he was coming out.
That means the oldest grandson, Craig, would join us today. This young man is hoot. When he was young he was labeled as ‘slightly
autistic’ because he wasn’t talking at some specific level at a certain age. Some model that “experts” decided all
children have to fit in. What a bunch of
crap. He didn’t talk because he figured
out other ways of getting things done – including observing and then fending
for himself – but none of that counted because of some paradigm. Well let me tell you at five years old he
doesn’t stop talking! He is intelligent
and articulate. Craig also makes
friends easily. He will approach any group
of kids at any playground and in five minutes he seems to know everything about
each of them! He also can amuse himself
should the playground be empty when he gets there. If I want to participate in what his doing
I’m free to join in and if not he is O.K. on his own.
I’ll tell
you a day of taking Craig back-and-forth to the playground, play bubbles, and
do crafts with Grandma wears you out! So
this is a short post ‘cuz Grandpa needs a nap!!!
Tomorrow is
out last day of ‘community service’ and we’ll have a couple of days off and
things will get interesting…I think. A
trip to Newport, RI is planned for Tuesday!
