We completed the trip from Colts Neck , N.J. to Assateague, Md. Again, we found more traffic than in previous years. This is the first year we also encountered the ”Sunday Driver” – the idiot who will pass you on the right, then jump in your lane and slow down to make a left turn!. Finally at the place I look forward t all year!
This is the first year we have stayed at the Maryland State
Park on Assateague. Normally stay at the
National Park – thanks Tea Party! My
prediction seems to be accurate. Since
there are no tourist leaving food scraps in the National Park the herd has
drifted north to the state park. As I
pull, my site was being used as a restaurant by one of the year round
residents. We did not seem to bother him
so we continued to set up and took the opportunity to take some photo. She didn’t seem to mind and Axel
seemed to not be upset by the presence of another four legged creature.
This is the busiest day of the vacation because once we
arrive we try to set up and then hit the Food Lion (Liink here) to stock up
on a couple of days worth of food. Everything is cheaper here than in my homestate..
We have another family joining us here this time. We have bragged about Assateague so much they
wanted to check it out.
