Salisbury Baptist School Choir |
The Salisbury Baptist School choir sang patriotic songs and the service hymns before the program began. The program started exactly at 11 am as advertised and was well executed. You could tell that everyone who had a part in the program got a chance to rehearse since it was flawless. There was an oration that required several speakers and they change places at the podium and returned to their seats in choreographed precision. The Wicomico Sheriffs provided a detail for the rifle salute and taps followed – all with seamless execution.
The People Who Made It Happen |
We were going to meet some veterans that we met at yesterday’s ceremonies for lunch at Fager’s Island. However when we got to Fager’s both Lori and I decided that neither of us was dressed for ‘fine dining’ so we went ‘in search of’. We ended up pulling into a Denny’s in downtown Ocean City and it proved to be worth the trip. The food was surprisingly good. The service was excellent. Seeing that it was close to 2 pm the place was surprisingly empty and we got to chat with the manager for a while. Between Deonte being an efficient and funny server and some quips with a Marine across the aisle and the manager, who was having a great time laughing, ended up making my meal complimentary! I think the Marine also got his comped. Remember the only ‘good marine’ is a ‘submarine’!
