If you are in the Niceville, FL. Area, make a trip to Turkey
Creek Park on West College Blvd. The park
consists of a mile long nature trail boardwalk.
The board walk provides access to the creek for swimming and tubing,
canoe/kayak pull out. There is a boat
launch near the south end of the park with access from W John Sims Pkwy at
Evans St.
From the south lot it is an
easy walk to the canoe ramp where you can tube over a mile of Turkey Creek
where you can pull out and walk the boardwalk back to you car or the launch, or
you can have a second car at the main entrance and make the walk significantly
shorter. The park is in excellent shape
and the boardwalk is used extensively by runners and walkers,
The trail was expanded, in conjunction with
help from Compassionate Friends, to include the Path of Memories. The path is open to everyone but has a
special emphasis on parents who have lost a child.
